Our First Annual Golf Fundraiser was held on August 6, 2018 at the St. Andrews Golf Club, the oldest in America. The Signature course was designed by the great Jack Nicklaus. The event was a tremendous success, with $75,000 raised to benefit the public schools and students of Harlem, with a matching donation by the Migdol Family Foundation for a total of $150,000. As a result, we were able to provide much needed school supplies, laptops and iPads to hundreds of children at events all over Harlem.
Distinguished honorees and special guests included Congressman Adriano Espaillat, State Senator Brian Benjamin, Councilman Bill Perkins, Councilman Mark Levine, then NYC Public Advocate Letitia James, FDNY Captain Robert E. Allen, Community Leader Keith Lilly, Christopher Jackson, Michael "Mic" Murphy and the late Michael K. Williams.
The event also marked the inception of the Annual Corwin J. Breeden Award in memory of our dear friend and colleague. The first annual awards were presented to those who gave back to their community and had a positive impact on the quality of life for its residents.
